Chris, It was such a joy-filled pleasure to have you participate in our Title I Family Reading Fun night. As our reading night ended, we distributed a feedback sheet for our families to complete. Comments were so positive, particularly in the area of student engagement. One of my passionate goals for our struggling readers this year is to "inspire the desire to read." That is not an easy task among those that find reading such a challenge. You do an incredible job with your enthusiasm, talent, and creativity to excite children and their families. I count it a blessing that you were willing to entertain us in such a meaningful way. Again, many thanks for your personal sacrifices away from your family to encourage the families of others.

I just wanted to let you know that everyone LOVES your books, including me. They are so funny!!!! Now, I see why you didn't have any trouble getting published.
Thanks,
Lisa Whatley, Media Specialist
Wilkinson County Primary/Elementary School

I can’t thank you enough for the wonderful presentations you did for our students yesterday. I came in this morning and found students and staff still raving about the day! I was telling my husband about the day, and I was trying to find someone I could compare you with, and all I could think of was Mr. Rogers. I hope you aren’t offended by that comparison, but he is a great hero of mine because of the love and acceptance and encouragement he gave to ALL children. That is what really sets your presentations apart from your colleagues and makes a day with you very special.

Chris-I think the last time I received SO MANY POSITIVE COMMENTS in 24 hours was WHEN I HAD MY LAST BABY! Our students, teachers, and other staff absolutely loved your visit. We appreciate your special encouragement for the students, and the more subtle encouragement for the educators and staff. How wonderful to be reminded that all of us ARE making a difference! May God bless you in your future endeavors... Thanks for making a difference at Dayton Elementary.
Annie Barnett, Title 1 Coordinator

This is a huge thank you for coming to visit Shannock Valley Elementary on March 13. The students had a blast! You have such a wonderful way with children and I was very impressed with how you were able to adapt your assembly to all grade levels. Even the teachers were raving about you and thanking me for selecting you! Most of all, thank you for encouraging our students to love reading. Your upbeat, humorous, and compassionate personality is truly special and no one left that day without a huge smile! You just make people feel good! Keep doing what you’re doing! Thanks again!
Laura Hall, Shannock Valley Elementary
Rural Valley, PA

Chris, your visit was more than I could have expected. I just put a thank you note in the mail to you, and included one of the parent thank you letters we received. You are spreading the "literacy, reading" message in a very effective way. Please "keep on going" . . . I believe our PTO might consider an Author-in-Residence. I will look up the info on your web site, and be in touch. Again, it was a pleasure having you to do such a powerful thing for our kids.

Hi Chris, Thanks for coming to our school. I received a lot of positive feedback. One parent even wrote a note to say how they appreciate the things Uncle Stinky teaches such as reading is fun, good behavior, accepting people for who they are, etc. Many have expressed that they have been curling up with their kids and your books laughing out loud and enjoying quality time together. A few students have decided to write their own books. My personal favorite is Smelly Bob, written by a 1st grader named Jonathan. So ... what's really great is how your personal story inspired kids to write on their own and how your presentations and books motivated parents to read with their kids.
It was really great working with you!! :)

Chris, I must say, the first time I saw the title of your books, I was a bit skeptical. However, after looking through the books, and watching your performance, all doubt was quickly laid to rest! You are a wonderful presenter, and truly have a gift in helping the students create a passion for reading. Thanks again for your time at New Salem. It was my pleasure to have met such a creative author that shares the same passion for children and learning that we all do.
Red Shick
Principal, New Salem Elementary
York, PA

The school was all a buzz after your visit. The media center had a run on requests for a copy of your books to check out. We all had a fantastic time and we will definitely keep in touch regarding future presentations.
On a personal note, I truly enjoyed your organized approach to scheduling and your prompt response to my every request for more information. Your package with all of the necessary promotional supplies was amazing. Thanks again for a wonderful morning at Silver City!

Dear Chris,
MANY THANKS go to you! Everyone totally enjoyed your program last night - you really reached the youngest to the grandparents. Person after person made a point of telling me how much they enjoyed your presentation. It was FABULOUS! We learned a lot and had a great time doing it. We thank you for your loving spirit for kids and learning to read and write.
I hope you will have contacts from Principals in the future as people begin to plan their budgets for next year. I will certainly offer recommendations to them.
Thank you again, Chris for everything.

I can't tell you how grateful we were for the honor of having Chris Rumble present at our school. The kids were so excited about reading they couldn't put his books down even after he left. The kids took his books out to the playground the next day and were reading them to each other. It was unbelievable! Chris truly has a gift for instilling the love for reading in students! He brought tears to our eyes when he presented our very special students with his illustrations.
The staff has been expressing their gratitude for such a great Author Visit. One teacher asked me, "Did you see the look on their faces?" Then we both said that Chris inspired us because now we want to put that look on their faces, too.
Chris was the gift we all needed this year to inspire our students to be the readers we know they can be.

I want to brag on Chris Rumble! He just spent three days with us, and and he was been FABULOUS! He has visited quite a few schools in our county, but I also want to say what a great job he did with our special ed kids - our special ed preschool teachers have told me that this is the first performer that the school has had come in that they felt their kids really enjoyed. Chris saw the whole school over 3 days. I think everyone from pre-k - 5th grade really enjoyed him.
His rates depend on what you are doing, but he was VERY reasonable and willing to work with our PTA budget.

The kids at our school loved Chris Rumble. I was so impressed with the way kids kept their attention on him. Chris truly has a gift with them. He is an inspiration to children and I hope that more children in my area get to benefit from his teachings and talents!

Uncle Stinky is just that - stinky! One whiff of Stinky and you'll run away! Told in the voice of a little boy named Zack, THE GOOD, THE BAD, AND THE SMELLY: BOOK 1, is a creative story about an adventurous adventurer with a good heart and very little adventure. In the town of Hootenholler, where there is always someone in the need of helping, Zack and his little brother, Billy, search for adventures for their stinky uncle and his pickle sidekick. The hilarious text and silly sidebars make Rumble's new book a must-have. In Uncle Stinky's first adventure, he saves Hootenholler from the Dreadful Plague of Embarrassment and wonders if he should trade his pickle sidekick for someone who actually moves.

This book is an entertaining chapter-book style book for elementary-grade children. The black and white illustrations, some in comic-book style, add fun and charm to the already enjoyable wording. There is a lot to see in this 96-page book-readers will have fun for hours!

THE GOOD, THE BAD, AND THE SMELLY: BOOK 1 by Chris Rumble comes highly recommended by this reviewer.

NEW TRICYCLE PRESS SERIES STINKS TO HIGH HEAVEN!!!

Tricycle Press has launched The Adventures of Uncle Stinky, a new series for young readers starring Uncle Stinky as himself - a superhero with a heart of gold...and a stink to high heaven!

With hilarious text, comic book-style illustrations, and silly sidebars, new author CHRIS RUMBLE introduces readers to the town of Hootenholler, where there
always seems to be someone in need of a helping hand, even if it's a stinky one.

In his first adventure, THE GOOD, THE BAD, AND THE SMELLY, Uncle Stinky saves Hootenholler from the Dreadful Plague of Embarrassment, hosts the uproarious "Storytime with Uncle Stinky," and makes the difficult decision to trade in his sidekick, a pickle, for someone a little more animated. Just one whiff of this putrid protagonist and kids will be clamoring for more!

"A day with the Reading Guitar Man is more fun than a day at the pool" -- a statement that is not only absolutely true, but also gives me a reason to post this classic photo of Levi, one of my favorite nephews.

But I like the picture and this is my web site and I can do whatever I want! So there.
